ARSENAL SHIRTS:

The shirt collection. A tribute to the most well-dressed team in the world!

2000s shirts

Season 2000-2001

The 2000-2001 home shirt. These shirts are made with Nike's Dri-Fit technology. According to the manufacturer the: "Dri-Fit fabric transports moisture from your skin to the fabric's surface for rapid evaporation, keeping you comfortable longer."

This means that this shirt is perfect for the pre-match pint. It allows you to feel comfortable for a longer time, especially if your sitting in direct sunshine. The Swiss research institute BLCS© claims that this new shirt allows the average user to increase his consumtion with 1, 46 pints per hour. So if your sitting there in your Adidas-89 away shirt feeling left behind, maybe you should think about upgrading to this new model.

This shirt was used in this years CL and is one of my all time favourites. When Arsenal played Lens in the Champions League November 25 1998 at Wembley (we lost 0-1) the players wore blue shirts like these, but of course with the JVC logo. See the 90s section for a picture of that shirt.

Same as above but with long sleeves and CL-patches.

Season 2001/2002

The new 2001/2002 away shirt.Looked incredibly ugly when I first saw it. Now when I´ve seen the players wearing it, this shirt looks ok.! Let's hope this gold shirt brings us loads of silverware!!!

See the same shirt in the fake section.

Season 2007/2008

After winning every competition including the Champions League during the 2006/2007 season Tony Adams quit. After a bad start to the 2007/2008 season the new Arsenal manager Nigel Winterburn knew something had to be done. He developed the Dri-Fit-Adams shirt together with NIKE. An extremly tight fitting shirt, with the design inspired by Adams's features. The new invention was an immediate success - suddenly the opponents had to face 10 players looking exactly like Adams, and on top of that a goalkeeper looking like a pimp. Meanwhile Man U/Disney™ having been relegated the previous season - the explanation was simple according to the fans, it's impossible to wear an animal costume while playing football - were struggling. But the new American owners at Old Trafford had wanted the players to promote the studios new animated film - The return of the Lion King - the directors cut.™

This season Man Disney™ wore 120 different kits - one for every match, they even changed kits during half-time. Once again they were relegated - Robin Hood, a.k.a The little Mermaid, a.ka Pepsilover™ said in a interview that the team had felt lost all season. The constant shirt changing and the new names given to the players had made them confused. He added off the record that: "You can't change your 'fucking' name every time this 'fucking' filmcompany has a new filmrelease". This was his last reply before he had to leave me to go home to Man U's new training camp "The Animal Kingdom"™, a.k.a Disneyland-Manchester™.

Grey Arsenal Shirt made in Australia

New design? Thanks Paul Leroux for the tip

The new 2002 away shirt according to some sellers at E-bay. Is this the shirt that will replace the gold shirt.

A fake copy of the shirt above, that might also be fake. All based on a model that hasn´t been released yet. People in the copying buisness work fast. This shirt is sold on E-bay by an Australia based dealer.

I'd advise anyone to be careful when buying shirts on the internet, because there are many fakes out there from Australia and Thailand.

Copy of the 97 away shirt. It´s not even close!

Beware when you're buying Arsenal shirts! Especially on E-bay.! There are many fake shirts out there. For some strange reason many of the fake shirts are only avalible in XL, so be extra careful it that´s your sixe.

Left: This shirt is sold in Australia. Pure crap!!!

Right: No comment.

2000 home shirt sold at E-bay. Notice the crest on the front of the shirt.

Left:There´s something peculiar about the Nike swoosh and the Dreamcast logo.

Left: F for fake. This E-bay seller had the decency to clearly state that this is not the real thing which is often not the case. This copy is made in Italy.

Right: Shirt from Australia.
