The Right to Referendum Movement
The ageless struggle against oppression continues today in Sweden in the form of a network for support for The Right to Referendum Movement.
Sweden prizes herself on being a democratic country
with a long democratic tradition but the truth is, as reflected in today's modern political and
social development, that democracy is endangered. The country is suffering from a general
degradation of values concerning public rights and the need for
reform has become increasingly necessary.
The Right to Referendum Movement is a cry for help from the
the concerned public that The Swedish Government is not listening to it's people.
The goal of the Movement is to influence current legistration
in favor of more liberal and stronger laws allowing local referendums to take place when
local conditions allow. It is interesting to note, that with today's laws, it's almost impossible
for this to happen.
