Way back in the middle of the 60's wherein the two adjoining Provinces namely Romblon and Oriental Mindoro were joined together to be as one diocese. After forming it as one diocese it goes until the end of 90's changes or reorganisation was made. As a result of the re-organisation, the former diocese becomes Diocese of Romblon and Mindoro. It's not only the Oriental but even the Occidental part or the entire Mindoro merges to be as one. In the early life existence of the diocese, it was lead by the young and energetic bishop Tito Pasco, from Colasi. Whose heart was captured by young and beautiful young lady, a daughter of a former Mayor A. Firmalo. Because the young bishop was gifted with his talent, he was fulled out of the diocese and was given opportunity to work in the National Office. The the newly born diocese were left without a permanent overseer. It was run from a distance by a bishop who is setting in the National Office, sometimes under a direct supervision of the OM. Most of the time under the care of the vicar selected by the local clergies or appointed by the bishop. Inspite of the absence of the bishop for a long period of time, the diocese was able to survive and able to continue to serve the people of God. A bishop and native of Odiongan Romblon in the person of Rt. Rev. E. Foja, a young and active bishop were assigned now to care of the diocese. Thanks be to God for giving the diocese a new leader and an overseer who will make sure that the program and projects of the diocese will be realised of course with the help of the faithfuls from this two provinces Romblon and Mindoro and even faithfuls from other places and with the blessing from above. Anyway, both provinces are very rich in natural recources and a little bit of rain-forest , beaches and marine life. Mindoro produces ton of agricultural products that are transported into neighbouring provinces and in Metro Manila.
