Some of the most important results are:
-Boilers with horizontal turbulence
suspension firing for cane bagasse burning in the Cuban sugar industry.
-Introduction to clasification and pneumatic drying of cane bagasse.
Objetives:
-To develop research works related with the Energetic Uses of Biomass
and other
alternative energy sources.
-To develop a Post-Graduate Eduactional Programme in different ways.
Reseach Line:
-Combustion and Enviromental Protection.
-Gasificaction, Pyrolisis and Biogass.
-Drying, Clasification and Pneumatic Handling.
-Cogeneration and Hidraulic Energy.
-Refrigeration and the Uses of Low Potential Energy.
-Mechanical Design and Computation.
In order to carry out the research lines, the ESC counts on more
than 20 qualified
collaborators and specialists, 8 of then have the
Ph.D degree. There is a Computing
Center and several labs among them:
-Combustion Laboratory.
-Heat Transfer Laboratory
-Fluids Mechanic Laboratory
-Internal Combustion Engines Laboratory

Post-Graduate Education
The ESC offers several post-graduate course for specialist.
An International Course for the Cane Bagasse Energetic Uses, wich has
been developed
three times in Cuba and once in Colombia stands out,
besides the Cogeneration of Electric
Energy Course.
A Master of Mechanical Engineering Course with an option in Energy
is also offered by the
ESC. This Course was developed at the Higher
Politechnical School of Chimborazo (ESPOCH),
in Ecuador.
