Heron Hillclimb 2003 ended with a broken windscreen. At the start I was waiting behing a supecharged Chevy and when he pulled away he threw grawel and stones right through my windscreen. Were do I find a new one? Maybe I can take it from my Caravan, sparepartscar.

Opel Kadett A was made between 1963 and 1965. It was fitted with a 1000cc engine in 2 versions. Normal produced 40 hp and the Super 48 hp. 3 mainbearings and siamesed intake didn´t make it a high performer but it was an engine that lasted. Opel kept the engine into the late 70´s and enlarged it to 1100cc and 1200cc.
There were 3 different bodies: Sedan, Caravan and Coupe.
I still don´t have a Coupe but I will get one as soon as I have a place for one.
The only colors that I know about is blue, white, yellow and red.
About 600000 of the A model were built.

More technical data.

The first picture is from 1976,when I bought the car Mechanically is has been fixed but exterior still remains. Front suspension and front discbrakes are from a 1966 Kadett B which is a great improvement. The stock drum brakes are really dangerous. They fade out if you make one hard stop from 100 km/h. Anti-roll bars will be fitted soon cause with the soft suspension it really rolls in the corners. It it is a lot of fun to drive, mainly due to the ultra quick, go-kart-like steering. It makes it a bit unstable at high speed but at the same time exiting. 120 kph feels like 200.


NEVER A ROLLS AGAIN...

 Since it is older than 30 years I don´t have to pay the road tax and safety inspection is only every second year instead of every year. Isn´t Sweden great!


This is my other Kadett originally bought for spares but I just can´t get rid of it. I love these cars. Am I the only one?
