POWER CHORD CHART Text only In most of the tab files found on the main page, the chords used are described at the beginning of the song. But here is still a chart of all power chords, which Rancid use for a majority of their songs (Note: I've learned that this probably isn't true. The contents of this page will be changed in the near future). You can play these chords in some different ways, but I prefer to play them as regular bar chords, but just striking the strings as shown below. If you're unfamilliar with reading tablature, I think you should check out Howard Wright's Guide to Tab Notation. If you're interested in learning more about basic chord theory, Dansm's Guitar Chord Theory is a good place to start. You should also read the guideline to playing punk guitar from a "Rancid perspective", written by A.H. The guide can be found here. How to read the chart: The images in the chart represents the fretboard with the nut at the top. The low E-string is to the left. The dots show which strings are fretted and at which fret. The crossed out strings should not be played. This power chord chart was designed for 800x600 screen resolution or better, why the chart might be a little too wide for some screens. Sorry. |
