by Pierre Götesson, goalie Warberg IC-85 (translated by Adam Troy)

Monday 5/2 2001
Today is the first day after the game against Haninge, we won by 3-0 and I played one of my best games of the last couple years so today many people call and want to talk about floorball but that is totally alright as as we won, so it is time well spent. We are free from floorball today but now I must leave and work night with the guy I am personal assistant to, I start at 9:15 pm and end tomorrow morning 7.15 am.

Tuesday 6/2
Since I worked all night I have to get some sleep to be able to practice tonight. I sleep until 2 pm and then get upp and eat breakfast consisting of 4 sandwiches and 2 glasses of milk. Then I took the liberty of taking it easy infront of the tv for an hour or two before I make dinner. As several times before spaghetti with sauce is made and with it I drank milk., I eat 2 ½ hours before practice so as not to get a stitch in my side. Practice starts at 7 pm with runing, the outfielders run for speed will the goalies run more for endurance and run about a 7 km loop. Afterwards we change and and practice indoors for 1 ½ . The indoor practice is started with drills to let the goalies get a feel for the ball. We start with the classic halfmoon and corners, the players run up in halv cirkels and shot directly on the pass, far out so the goalies get a chance to get befriend the ball. Many where missing today because of the flew so we divide the field in two. On the one side we played street (3 on 3 with one goal/goalie and you have to have the ball under controll outside the handball line to score). It is a very good drill for goalies as well as outplayers as there are many chance and small areas. On the other half of the field there was power play which I enjoy immensly as there are many chances and a lot of side movements and gives me a lot of practice. After this we played two goals the rest of the practice, but since we are three goalies one of uss has to practice strenght by the side of the field (pushups, situps etc.) Then it is time for the usual "sh*t talk" in the shower. Now it is time to work again and when at work I have to eat something because it is very important to eat after practice.

Wednesday 7/2
As yesterday I slept until lunch and then I ate breakfast. Today was a pretty easy day, the only thing that happened was a strenght session that we can do at any time of the day. So I did that after I ate breakfast, because then I have the entire evening off so I can spend time with my girlfriend.

Thursday 8/2
Today I worked from 7:00 am to 3:45 pm after which I went home and ate before practice that's starts at 6:30 pm, we should be dressed an ready to play by then but we start with an half hour meeting and mental training. We discuss any questions that can have developed during the week. After the meeting we we warm up with runing indoors and stretching followed by the half moon and the corners followed by a counter attack drill that starts with three players attacking against two (the goalie rolls the ball out to one of them), the two try to win the ball and follow up with and attack on one of the three, it's played on the entire field attacking first one way the the other, we call the drill 3 on 2, 2 on 1. It may sound complicated but it isn't and as goalie you practice reading the game and as an outplayer you practice counter attacking effectively. Practice continued with 2 goal play with many penalties to practice power play and box play. After the practice we find out who are going to play against Nerike, I get the go once again and it should be fun now that I am on a role…

Friday 9/2
No floorball today because we have two games this weekend but we usually have a 2 hour session on Fridays
