David! Why did you have to die! What can anyone say about the late, great David Niven? The guy has done everything worth doing. There's nothing left for me! Things he has done are:

Won an Oscar (for his portrayal of Major in Seperate Tables by Terence Rattigan)
Seen Greta Garbo regularly swim naked in his swimming pool
Been mates with Frank Sinatra, Humphrey Bogart, Errol Flynn, Churchill etc.
Met everyone else including JFK
Been a national hero
Married a Swedish Supermodel
Been taken under the wing of a gorgeous prostitute when he was only 13.
Starred as James Bond in the classic film Casino Royale
Written the best book ever: The Moon's A Balloon (his autobiography).

My grandmother saw him when he came into the war office when he was working there.

On 28 November 1998 I went to a party held by my mate Vicount Samuels and met a lady who went to school in the same class as David Niven's first wife Primmie. She couldn't recall much about her though, except that she was quite quiet.

My daughter was born on his birthday.
